GX is among the pioneers of noise and in 1979 he formed the legendary noise band ‘The Haters’. He has performed and lectured at most of the major festivals in Europe and the US. Jessica King is a visual artist and toy designer and has been collaborating with GX since 2004.

Facts on the Polywave
Broadcast live on air in 5.1 Surround Sound and on line: Ö1 Kunstradio - Radiokunst, October 22nd, 2006. To the sound of a relentlessly noisy clock, they set up a small record player with a turntable made of sandpaper, a transistor radio and two shovels with contact microphones attached in order to put into practice what GX means by his ‘theory of the polywave’. It is about the nature of sounds and considers noises as simultaneous movement in all directions. It postulates that each individual direction is a cross-section of a larger cumulative effect. The theory goes on to state that everything except for nothingness moves as part of the polywave.

К часам, известным своим безжалостным шумом, они приделывают проигрыватель пластинок с наждачной бумагой, транзисторный радиоприемник и два совка с контактными микрофонами - все это сконструировано таким образом, чтобы удовлетворять тому, что GX называет “теорией поливолны”. Она - о природе звука. Шумы рассматриваются как одновременное движение во всех направлениях. Также постулируется, что каждое индивидуальное движение - это поперечное сечение в рамках большого кумулятивного эффекта. Теория идет еще дальше и провозглашает, что все, за исключением разве что небытия, движется в рамках поливолны.
